What's in a name?

'Kattumarum' is the root word of 'catamaran,' in Tamil, a language spoken in South India.
Kattu means ‘tied’ and marum means ‘wood.’ A simple raft made with logs of wood and coir rope.

Natural. Useful. Resilient. It is used by fishermen world over. From its humble origins to its entire lifecycle, the kattumarum is the very essence of sustainability.

But what makes it our namesake?

The free-wheeling joy of a Kattumarum ride. Boundless, strong, resilient and free. Everything we want our kids to be.

Say it with us, ‘cut - two - mah - rum!' (Like the drink!) 🍹😀

Hop on the Kat·tu·ma·rum and sail with us.
